ADT Solar LLC was a leading U.S.-based provider of residential and commercial solar energy solutions headquartered in Covington, Louisiana. Originally founded as Sunpro Solar in 2007, it was acquired by ADT Inc.—a renowned home security company—in late 2021 to expand into renewable energy markets. ADT Solar specialized in turnkey rooftop photovoltaic system design, installation, maintenance, battery storage integration, roofing services related to PV installs, energy efficiency audits, and financing options.
The company operated across more than a dozen states with over 2,000 employees at its peak. It installed over 533 megawatts of solar since inception—193 MW in 2022 alone—and earned recognition as the #2 residential installer on the 2023 Top Residential Solar Contractors list by Solar Power World. ADT Solar emphasized customer service backed by strong warranties: even after exiting the business in early 2024 due to financial underperformance industry-wide, it committed to honoring existing workmanship warranties and manufacturer guarantees for installed systems.
As of January 2024, ADT announced its exit from the residential solar market; however, warranty support remains active per official statements.
