Current Electric Company

Founded in 1983 in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, Current Electric Company has established itself as a leading full-service electrical contractor with a strong focus on innovative solar energy solutions. As one of Wisconsin’s longest-standing solar installers—with over 21 years of experience in photovoltaic systems—they serve both residential homeowners and commercial businesses across southeastern Wisconsin.
The company provides end-to-end solar solutions: from initial site assessments through custom system design to installation of panels, battery storage systems (such as Franklin batteries), and electric vehicle charging stations. Their team handles all permitting processes and incentive applications for clients to maximize savings from federal tax credits or state rebates.
Current Electric is recognized for its commitment to quality service—holding NABCEP certifications—and works closely with local utilities, inspectors, industry organizations like Legacy Solar Co-op and MREA, ensuring best practices are followed throughout every project. Beyond installations, they offer ongoing support for all electrical needs post-project completion.
Their reputation is built on decades-long dedication to customer satisfaction through technical expertise, attention to detail, community involvement (“Current Cares” initiative), innovation in clean energy technologies—and a mission “to be the leader in illuminating and energizing people’s lives.”
