Gehrlicher Solar America Corp. (GSAC), founded in 2010 as the U.S. subsidiary of Germany-based Gehrlicher Solar AG, specialized in delivering comprehensive solutions across the entire lifecycle of commercial solar projects. Headquartered in Springfield, NJ, GSAC offered services including system design/engineering, construction management, project financing options such as PPAs and leasing structures for a diverse clientele—utilities to educational institutions.
The company also operated a wholesale distribution business supplying high-performance utility-scale photovoltaic systems nationwide. By 2014 it had completed over 32 MW of installed capacity across the United States. In 2013 GSAC was acquired by M+W Group; subsequently rebranded as M+W Energy Inc., expanding its offerings to include advanced EPC services for large-scale clients such as Fortune 1000 companies and government agencies. Under new ownership it contributed to significant growth—expanding from an installed base of 75 MW to over 560 MW by mid-decade—and broadened its portfolio with energy storage solutions and hybrid/microgrid technologies.
