NextEra Energy, Inc.

NextEra Energy, Inc., headquartered in Juno Beach, Florida, is one of the world’s largest electric utility holding companies by market capitalization and a Fortune 200 company. Through its principal subsidiary NextEra Energy Resources (NEER), it is recognized as the world’s largest generator of renewable energy from wind and solar sources. The company operates approximately 58 GW of generating capacity across North America as of 2024—spanning wind farms, universal-scale solar projects (33+ sites), battery storage installations, nuclear facilities through select subsidiaries, as well as some natural gas assets.
NextEra Energy has pioneered large-scale deployment of renewables with an ambitious “Real Zero Blueprint” targeting significant decarbonization ahead of industry peers. Its business model includes developing new clean-energy projects from site selection to construction and ongoing management; providing tailored renewable solutions to utilities and corporate customers; securing long-term PPAs; and investing heavily in grid infrastructure.
The company reported revenues exceeding $24 billion in 2024 with over 16,000 employees across the U.S. It consistently ranks among America’s most valuable utilities due to its scale in renewables deployment—especially wind/solar—and disciplined financial management.
