NM Solar Group Inc., founded in 2015 and based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, was a prominent solar energy provider serving both residential and commercial clients across New Mexico and parts of Texas. The company specialized in turnkey solar solutions—handling every aspect from system design to permitting, installation, interconnection with utilities, ongoing monitoring, maintenance services, as well as offering various financing options such as leases. NM Solar Group installed over 5,000 solar panel systems during its operation and worked on notable projects including large-scale installations for local wineries and agricultural businesses.
The company prided itself on customer education throughout the process and held certifications such as NABCEP (North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners), SRCC (Solar Rating & Certification Corporation), and IREC (Interstate Renewable Energy Council). However, due to market pressures—including rising costs and tightening credit conditions—NM Solar Group abruptly ceased operations in August 2023. This closure left many customers with incomplete installations or unresolved service issues; subsequent legal actions were initiated by the New Mexico Attorney General’s office to assist affected consumers.
