Solar Space Technologies

Solar Space Technologies (SST) is an Australian company pioneering space-based solar power technology. Their primary mission is to launch a fully operational solar power satellite into geostationary orbit by 2027 to provide baseload renewable electricity to the Australian grid, with a long-term goal of reaching 18 gigawatts capacity for domestic use and export. Founded by Serdar Baycan in Melbourne, Victoria, with technical leadership from John C. Mankins, SST focuses on deploying advanced satellites to collect solar energy in orbit and transmit it wirelessly via ground stations. This approach aims to deliver continuous clean electricity independent of weather or daylight.
