Sunworks, Inc. was a U.S.-based solar energy company specializing in high-performance solar and battery storage solutions for over two decades. The company served a broad range of sectors including residential, agricultural, commercial, industrial, federal government projects and public works. In April 2021 Sunworks acquired Solcius LLC—a rapidly growing residential solar provider based in Provo, Utah—for $51.8 million in cash. This acquisition expanded Sunworks’ national footprint to at least 12 states across the U.S., including California and Utah.
The combined entity generated approximately $131.5 million in net revenue for calendar year 2020 with an $81.4 million project backlog at year-end. Sunworks was recognized for its agile partner-centric approach and technology-neutral solutions network that delivered over 200 MW of installed capacity nationwide prior to ceasing operations.
As of early 2024 reports indicate that Sunworks is no longer operating as an independent business; its website has been taken offline and there are no recent updates from official channels confirming ongoing activity.
